Overview
We are excited to offer two paid trainee positions for aspiring Child and Young Person (CYP) Psychological Behavioural Therapists. This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in delivering evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to children and young people within a supportive training environment. As a Trainee CYP-PT, you will work closely with experienced clinicians, gaining practical experience in assessment, care planning, and therapeutic interventions. This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about mental health and committed to making a positive difference in young people's lives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting initial assessments and gathering information to support clinical decision-making
- Contribute to the development and review of personalized care plans tailored to each young person’s needs
- Support therapists during therapy sessions, observing techniques and learning best practices
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of patient interactions, progress notes, and treatment plans
- Use IT systems effectively to record data, manage appointments, and communicate with team members
- Participate in supervision sessions, training workshops, and team meetings to enhance your clinical skills
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with young people, families, and multidisciplinary team members to promote engagement and understanding
Qualifications
- A relevant undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in psychology, mental health, or a related field
- Strong communication skills with the ability to listen actively and convey information clearly
- Basic IT literacy skills for managing electronic records and communication tools
- An interest in developing expertise in cognitive behavioural therapy for children and young people
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Commitment to ongoing learning, professional development, and adhering to ethical standards
