Your Role:
As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll support children with complex needs in a trauma-informed, child-focused environment. You'll help create structure, encourage independence, and bring emotional safety to young people who need it most. Whether you're offering reassurance during a tough moment or simply being a consistent, trusted presence — your role will have a lasting impact.
Purpose:
- Build meaningful, trusted relationships with children
- Support young people with daily routines, school, and hobbies
- Provide emotional and practical care, guidance and consistency
- Encourage children to develop confidence, independence and life skills
- Assist with keywork sessions and contribute to care planning
- Support with household tasks (cooking, cleaning, daily upkeep)
- Work collaboratively with your team and external professionals
- Uphold safeguarding, risk management and reporting procedures
- Promote a nurturing, inclusive and positive home environment
- Embrace trauma-informed practice in everything you do
About You:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
- Previous experience in care or transferable life experience
- Driver (essential)
- Compassionate, reliable and calm under pressure
- A great listener and team player
- Confident to work shifts, weekends and sleep-ins
- Genuinely passionate about supporting young people
- Open to learning and developing with the role

Schedule:
- Rota-based shifts (days/evenings/weekends/sleep-ins)
- Monday to Sunday availability
- Sleep-in duties (additional pay provided)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £30,750.00-£34,080.00 per year
