Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating a 8 wheel tipper with a focus on aggregate deliveries, ensuring timely and secure transportation of goods to various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving and delivery operations will contribute to maintaining our reputation for reliable service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle, primarily focusing on flatbed deliveries across designated routes
- Load, secure, and unload cargo with precision, ensuring all items are transported safely and securely
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to verify roadworthiness and report any issues promptly
- Plan efficient delivery routes to meet schedules while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the road
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure personal safety and that of colleagues and the public
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver, preferably with flatbed operation experience
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and transportation compliance standards
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and securing loads on flatbeds
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with route planning tools
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude on the road
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings or weekends if required
