Friarton Depot, Perth
Are you an experienced HGV Mechanic looking for a new opportunity? Are you motivated, forward thinking and a good team player? If so, we would like to hear from you!
Perth & Kinross Council is seeking a time served HGV Mechanic / Technician within Fleet Management. You must have the relevant mechanical qualifications, such as City & Guilds Parts 2 & 3, City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2, or SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent level of certification).
Although a C+E driving licence would be desirable, it is not essential. There would be a willingness to undertake training and testing to obtain a C+E driving licence within 6 months of appointment.
You will have the ability to work within a pressured environment, and being able to meet your own and team deadlines is vital.
Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorship for this post.
You will have the knowledge, skills and experience in the repair & maintenance of heavy goods vehicles, and will be responsible for ensuring that the Council’s fleet of vehicles is maintained to both DVSA and Perth & Kinross Council standards.
You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
The workshop operates a shift system consisting of early and back shifts, Monday to Friday on a rotational basis, therefore it will be necessary for the successful candidate to participate in these working patterns.
You will be part of a hardworking, supportive team who have a good sense of humour, and we offer a positive working environment.
We can offer you a range of employee benefits including the Local Government Pension Scheme, generous holiday allowance and health & wellbeing initiatives. We also offer training and development opportunities, invest in our staff, and value their contribution.
Our values and behaviours influence our work and support us in the delivery of our key priorities. In your application, and should you be invited to interview, you will be asked to describe situations that support the criteria required in the role and which also demonstrate our values and behaviours.
