Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructional Specialist to support individuals with diverse learning needs. This role involves developing and delivering tailored educational programmes, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting the personal and academic growth of learners. The successful candidate will work closely with children and young adults, including those with disabilities and autism, to enhance their skills and confidence through specialised teaching methods. Responsibilities
- Design and implement customised instructional programmes for individuals with disabilities, including autism, ensuring they meet each learner’s unique needs.
- Deliver engaging lessons and activities that promote skill development across various domains, including communication skills.
- Provide tutoring and mentoring support to help learners achieve their academic and personal goals.
- Assess learners’ progress regularly and adapt teaching strategies accordingly to optimise outcomes.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that encourages participation, independence, and confidence.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure consistency in approach and maximise learner success.
- Maintain accurate records of progress, attendance, and behavioural observations in compliance with organisational policies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and inclusive teaching.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young adults in educational or mentoring settings.
- Knowledge of special education principles and experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage learners with diverse needs.
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative teaching strategies tailored to individual learners’ requirements.
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to instruction.
- Relevant qualifications in education, special education, or related fields are preferred but not essential for entry-level candidates committed to professional growth.
