About Go Insight
Go Insight is a women-led data and intelligence organisation serving public and private sector clients. We combine data management, analytics, research and intelligence to solve real-world problems for our clients from government to NGOs to commercial organisations.
We're looking for a sharp, curious Data Analyst to join our team. This is a fantastic entry point if you've built strong analytical fundamentals and want to learn from experienced practitioners on real client projects.
The Role
You'll split your time between:
- Client project work – data cleaning, analysis, and reporting for live engagements. You'll work alongside our team, learning how real data becomes actionable insights.
- Internal pipeline and tool development – helping build and maintain the data workflows we use across projects (Power Query, SQL, BI tools).
- Intelligence and investigative research – examining trade networks, cross-referencing sources, and turning fragmented data into structured intelligence products.
- Learning and growth – shadowing senior team members and taking on increasingly complex tasks as you grow confidence.
What You'll Bring
Essential:
- Strong academic background in data analysis, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related field
- Proficiency in Excel (spreadsheet formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation)
- SQL – you can write SELECT queries, JOIN tables, and filter data
- Familiarity with at least one BI tool (Power BI, Tableau) or willingness to learn quickly
- Analytical mindset – comfortable working with incomplete information and drawing sound, data-driven conclusions
- Attention to detail – data quality matters, and you care about accuracy
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Power Query
- Exposure to Python or R
- A portfolio or GitHub with a data analysis project
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
What Makes You Stand Out
- You're proactive – you spot data quality issues and suggest improvements without being asked.
- You ask good questions and aren't afraid to say 'I don't know yet'
- You’re flexible – our work is varied and we value adaptability
- You enjoy problem-solving and can communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- You're genuinely curious about how data can drive better decisions.
