Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Contract Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and management of contractual agreements within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all contracts are compliant, optimised, and aligned with company objectives. This role requires strong leadership, negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Contract Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering effective communication between stakeholders and ensuring the successful delivery of projects, particularly within the construction sector. This is a paid position suitable for individuals with a solid background in project management and contract administration.
Responsibilities
- Develop, negotiate, and manage contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Oversee project timelines using Microsoft Project to ensure deadlines are met efficiently.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled on time and within scope.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimise contractual risks.
- Lead negotiations to optimise contractual terms favourable to organisational goals.
- Monitor project progress and prepare detailed reports using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Maintain organised documentation of all contracts, amendments, and correspondence for audit purposes.
- Liaise effectively with stakeholders across construction projects to ensure clear communication and expectations are managed appropriately.
- Drive continuous improvement in contract management processes through organisational skills and IT proficiency.
- Ensure compliance with legal standards and company policies throughout all contractual activities.
Qualifications
- Experience within the highway’s maintenance sector is desirable, preferably Traffic Management.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD / BricsCAD
- Proven experience in management, negotiation, and project management within the construction industry or related fields.
- Sound understanding of ISO 9001, 14001 & 450001.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate clear stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as specialised tools such as Microsoft Project.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience managing teams or projects.
- Sound understanding of IT systems relevant to contract management processes.
- Valid driving licence is essential for site visits or stakeholder meetings outside the office environment.
- A recognised qualification in management or construction-related disciplines is advantageous but not essential.
