We have an exciting role on offer within our Adult Social Care and Health service as a Social Care Worker.
We have an exciting opportunity for a social care worker to join our Learning Disability team. At Middlesbrough, we live our values. We are passionate about improving lives, focused on achieving the best outcomes, and creative in how we support our residents. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is creative and able to work on their own initiative, who will enable people with a learning disability to achieve better outcomes and to live meaningful, independent and fulfilling lives.
The team supports people with a learning disability from the age of 18 years and their carers/family. As a social care worker, you will work closely with colleagues within the Learning Disability team, partners from Health, the voluntary and charitable sectors and with children’s services and education with young adults who are preparing for adulthood.
The work is varied and may include writing reports as part of the safeguarding enquiry. You will be working with people of different ages who may be living at home with parents, living independently with support or in supported living houses, or residential placements.
We are looking for someone who is creative and can think outside the box, someone who can look at different ways of working to bring efficiencies and better outcomes for people using our services.
To support you in this role we offer excellent training and career development opportunities, flexible working arrangements including blended home/office working, a warm welcome from the team, directors, and Chief Executive, as well as a workplace buddy and full induction process. Applications for the post are invited from individuals who are committed to demonstrating the values of Middlesbrough Council.
If this is you, this may be the opportunity you are looking for!
