Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Sustainability Programme Manager to lead our organisation’s sustainability initiatives. This pivotal role involves developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive programmes aimed at reducing environmental impact, enhancing resource efficiency, and promoting sustainable practices across all business operations. Duties
- Lead the development and execution of organisation-wide sustainability strategies aligned with corporate goals and industry standards.
- Oversee multiple sustainability projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget using recognised project management methodologies such as SAFe, Waterfall, or Primavera P6.
- Supervise cross-functional teams, providing guidance and fostering collaboration to achieve programme objectives.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues affecting sustainability performance and implement effective solutions.
- Gather requirements from stakeholders across departments to tailor sustainability initiatives that meet organisational needs.
- Manage data collection and analysis using tools such as SAS, Salesforce, or Smartsheet to monitor programme progress and impact.
- Utilise project management software including Microsoft Project, Project Server, or Jira to plan, track, and report on project milestones.
- Coordinate with external vendors and internal teams via platforms like SharePoint, Confluence, Workday, or ServiceNow for seamless information sharing.
- Prepare compelling presentations for executive leadership using Visio or PowerPoint to communicate programme status and strategic recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and organisational policies while promoting a culture of continuous improvement in sustainability practices.
Skills
- Proven supervising experience with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
- Strong skills in root cause analysis and problem-solving within complex organisational environments.
- Exceptional team management capabilities combined with excellent organisational skills.
- Proficiency in requirements gathering and translating stakeholder needs into actionable plans.
- Extensive experience with ERP systems such as Workday or SAP; familiarity with content management systems like SharePoint is advantageous.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Expertise in cost control measures to optimise resource utilisation without compromising quality.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with excellent communication skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in project management software including Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Jira, or Smartsheet; experience with SAFe or Waterfall methodologies is desirable.
- Data analysis skills using SAS or similar tools to inform decision-making processes.
- Competence in creating professional presentations using PowerPoint or Visio; experience in product management is a plus.
- Familiarity with organisational tools such as Confluence, ServiceNow, or Product Server enhances collaboration efficiency.
