Part-time Finance Manager Role
2 days/week
Since 1974, Genesis Publications has published handcrafted limited-edition books with many of the world's leading musicians, photographers and artists. As an independent, family-owned publisher, we are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our small, collaborative team and help strengthen the company's financial planning and support its long-term success.
Key responsibilities
- Own the company's cash flow forecasting and working capital management, maintaining rolling weekly and longer-term forecasts to support business decisions
- Monitor debtor and creditor positions
- Assist Directors with financing, banking and lending relationships
- Prepare budgets and develop financial forecasts for new publishing projects and investment decisions
- Review information posted to accounting software weekly for accuracy and compare to budgets/forecasts
- Review monthly management accounts prepared by bookkeeper and run variance analysis against previous year and projections
- Meet with Directors weekly to discuss cashflows forecasts and projections
- Produce ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making
- Prepare royalty statements due as per signed contracts, submission to relevant parties and posting to Xero
- Oversee the year end stock take
- Oversee the preparation of final year end accounts and liaise with external accountants
Essential Skills
- Previous experience in a similar position
- Experience using modern cloud accounting software (Xero preferred)
- Qualified or Part qualified (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, AAT)
- Strong Excel/Google sheets skills
- Great attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
