Expected Hours: 35–45 hours per week, including weekends
About Marida
Marida Coffee Roasters is an independent, family-run specialty coffee roastery and café dedicated to serving exceptional coffee, premium matcha and fresh food with genuine hospitality.
As we open our flagship café in Fulham, we’re looking for an experienced, passionate Barista to become part of our founding team. This is an opportunity to help shape the culture of a growing independent coffee brand where quality, consistency and customer experience come first.

Key Responsibilities
Coffee Excellence
- Prepare consistently exceptional espresso-based drinks.
- Prepare ceremonial-grade hot and iced matcha beverages.
- Produce clean, high-quality latte art.
- Dial in espresso and maintain quality throughout the day.
- Ensure every drink meets Marida’s quality standards.
- Maintain coffee equipment and carry out daily cleaning procedures.
Customer Experience
- Deliver warm, friendly and professional customer service.
- Create memorable experiences that encourage customers to return.
- Confidently recommend coffees, matcha, food and retail products.
- Resolve customer queries professionally and positively.
- Represent the Marida brand with pride.
Café Operations
- Open and close the café independently.
- Operate the till accurately.
- Assist with food preparation and service.
- Maintain excellent cleanliness and organisation throughout the café.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering requirements.
- Follow all Food Safety, Health & Safety and company procedures.
Teamwork
- Work closely with the owners and fellow team members.
- Support and encourage colleagues during busy service.
- Help maintain a positive, welcoming and professional workplace.
- Share ideas that improve customer experience and café operations.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Minimum 1 year of barista experience.
- Experience working with commercial espresso machines.
- Experience preparing high-quality matcha beverages.
- Strong knowledge of specialty coffee.
- Confident milk steaming and latte art.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Positive attitude with a genuine passion for hospitality.
- Reliable, organised and punctual.
- Ability to remain calm in a busy environment.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience dialling in espresso.
- Experience in specialty coffee.
- Food preparation experience.
- Opening and closing experience.
- Basic understanding of coffee origins, brewing methods and roasting.
- Experience maintaining coffee equipment.
