Bourton Hall is our luxurious Warwickshire wedding venue, nestled in the heart of Shakespeare Country. Surrounded by twelve acres of gardens, woodland and parkland, this striking Italianate mansion and former Catholic chapel provide an exclusive setting for beautiful weddings and events.
The Role
As Venue Manager, you will be fully responsible for the successful day-to-day operation of the venue, ensuring exceptional service standards, commercial performance and memorable guest experiences.
You will lead from the front, supporting and developing your team whilst maintaining the highest operational standards across all areas of the business.
This role requires a hands-on manager who is equally comfortable engaging with guests, leading a team, managing budgets and ensuring the smooth delivery of weddings and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop the venue team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Ensure the venue achieves agreed financial, operational and guest satisfaction targets.
- Take responsibility for monthly, quarterly and annual venue performance against budget.
- Oversee the smooth delivery of weddings, events and venue operations, maintaining the highest standards at all times.
- Act as an ambassador for Country House Weddings, ensuring guests receive outstanding service throughout their journey.
- Manage guest feedback, complaints and service recovery professionally and effectively.
- Monitor venue KPIs and implement improvements to drive performance and efficiency.
- Support the recruitment, training, development and retention of venue team members.
- Be responsible for the up-selling of accommodation and other revenue opportunities to maximise venue performance.
- Ensure contracted bar and waiting teams achieve required performance levels and standards.
- Act as Personal Wedding Manager for a minimum of 12 weddings per annum, subject to venue requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including risk assessments, fire safety, security and manual handling procedures.
- Maintain all licensing requirements and venue compliance standards.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven management experience within hospitality, weddings, events or hotel operations.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
- A hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example.
- Excellent customer service and guest relations skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience working to budgets and performance targets.
- Outstanding communication, organisation and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- A Personal Licence Holder qualification (or willingness to obtain this training).
