Pastelle Kitchen & Events is a cool pop-up restaurant and events business based in York. While predominantly hosting events in our intimate space off Leeman Road there will be some events off-site which will need to be attended such as weddings, corporate events and birthdays.
The successful candidate MUST have a passion for food and/or drink and be eager to work in the hospitality sector with a positive and gregarious personality.
Our kitchen culture is built on mutual respect and professionalism, with no tolerance for shouting or passive-aggressive behavior. Instead, we value passion, creativity, impeccable cleanliness and initiative. If you bring these qualities and are looking to work in a close-knit, friendly and enjoyable environment, we would love to hear from you.
At Pastelle, we intentionally leave behind the egotistical kitchen culture often found elsewhere. You will work directly alongside our Executive Chef, who actively encourages creativity and welcomes new ideas.
The successful candidate will work scheduled shifts with a minimum of one month’s notice. Each day involves thoughtful planning and preparation, contributing to evolving seasonal menus. Our kitchen is located in a converted 19th-century coal merchants building and, while private, it is open, light-filled and designed to be an enjoyable, productive space where hard work and good energy go hand in hand.
Who Are Pastelle?
Pastelle is a small, independent pop-up restaurant, events and catering business based one mile from the city centre, with private on-site parking available.
Pop-Up Restaurant
We host ticketed pop-up dining experiences at our premises, showcasing high-quality ingredients and creative cooking. The successful candidate will play an active role in planning and delivering these events, contributing to the development of exciting and distinctive dishes.
Events & Catering
In addition to our pop-up evenings, we cater for a wide range of events, offering variety and flexibility beyond a single kitchen environment. Working in partnership with some of Yorkshire’s leading venues, the role will involve occasional travel, with all related travel costs covered.
Approximately 80% of your time will be based at Pastelle Kitchen, focused on preparation and service for our supper clubs and private dining experiences, with the remaining time spent supporting off-site events.
