Mechanical Technician
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Technician to join AJ Scott Ltd, an industry-leading, family-owned sawmill. As a progressive and growing business, we are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our Engineering team.
Key duties include:
· Carrying out planned maintenance checks on mill machinery.
· Completing work in a timely manner to minimise downtime and support effective site operations.
· Accurately completing all relevant paperwork, using the CMMS system where needed
· Ensure high level of hygiene are maintained, good housekeeping and cleaning and clearing of debris/sawdust where required.
· Carrying out machine inspections as required.
· Identifying any deficiencies or defects that may affect the safe operation or use of machinery.
· Notifying the Engineering Manager and H&S department of any defective or unsafe equipment.
· Supporting and assisting the Engineering team and machine operators where required.
Relevant experience and qualifications:
· City & Guilds, NVQ or SVQ Level 2 qualification in mechanical engineering or maintenance, or relevant experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
· A proactive approach, with the ability to use initiative to achieve effective outcomes.
· The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
· Good IT skills, including the ability to use CMMS systems.
· A flexible, positive and practical outlook.
Shifts Pattern
Monday - Friday 14:00 - 22:00
