Oriels Cocktail Bar & Eatery has launched in the heart of Exeter – a brand-new premium venue combining theatrical cocktails, live entertainment, and a stylish dining experience. We’re creating a destination where guests can expect world-class drinks, vibrant nights, and unforgettable service.
We’re now building on our opening bar team and are on the lookout for passionate Bartenders & Mixologists who can deliver great drinks with personality, style, and consistency.
The Role
As a Bartender or Mixologist at Oriels, you’ll be at the centre of the action – shaking cocktails, pouring premium serves, and creating the atmosphere that makes Oriels stand out. Whether you’re serving a perfectly poured pint, a signature cocktail, or chatting with guests at the bar, you’ll bring energy, flair, and professionalism to every shift.
Key Responsibilities
Cocktails & Bar Service
- Prepare and serve Oriels’ full range of drinks – from premium cocktails to wines, beers, and spirits – with accuracy and style.
- Mixologists: craft Oriels’ signature cocktails and contribute to seasonal menu innovation.
- Bartenders: deliver efficient, high-quality bar service across all areas of the menu.
- Maintain speed, consistency, and attention to detail during busy service.
Guest Experience
- Deliver warm, welcoming, and engaging service for every guest.
- Share knowledge of our cocktails and drinks to enhance the guest experience.
- Help create a lively, stylish, and premium atmosphere on every shift.
Bar Operations
- Keep the bar stocked, clean, and well-presented at all times.
- Assist with stock rotation, deliveries, and inventory checks.
- Handle cash and card payments responsibly and accurately.
Teamwork & Culture
- Work closely with fellow bartenders, floor staff, and managers for smooth service.
- Support training and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Contribute passion and ideas to help Oriels continually improve and innovate.
About You
- Previous experience as a Bartender, Mixologist, or Bar Staff in a hospitality venue.
- Strong knowledge of classic bar service; cocktail knowledge is a plus (and essential for Mixologists).
- Energetic, personable, and guest-focused.
- A team player with great communication skills and a genuine passion for hospitality.
- Excited to be part of a brand-new venue launch and to help make Oriels a success from day one.
