Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a variety of exquisite pastries, desserts, and baked goods that meet our high standards of quality and presentation. Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards
- Develop new pastry recipes and innovate existing ones to keep the menu fresh and appealing
- Ensure all food production complies with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Oversee the presentation and garnishing of desserts to ensure visual appeal
- Manage ingredient inventory, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry section in accordance with health and safety guidelines
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation schedules and ensure timely service
- Assist in training junior staff members in pastry techniques and food safety procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, food preparation, cooking, or baking within a professional kitchen environment
- Strong culinary skills with specialised knowledge of pastry arts and baking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Creativity in developing new dessert ideas that align with current trends and customer preferences
- Ability to work as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills and professionalism at all times
