This position involves a 6-month contract with a local authority, offering a rate of £33.83 per hour under an umbrella arrangement. The primary objective is to oversee the delivery, upkeep, refurbishment, and replacement of lift assets, ensuring their safe, reliable, and compliant operation. The role requires managing engineering projects from start to finish, supervising contractors and consultants, controlling project budgets, and providing specialized technical knowledge on lift systems and related infrastructure.
Responsibilities

Lead the planning, design, procurement, and execution of lift engineering projects.

Oversee programmes for lift refurbishment, replacement, and scheduled maintenance.

Serve as the Contract Manager for lift maintenance and capital works agreements.

Develop specifications, tender documents, and procurement requirements.

Monitor the performance of contractors and consultants, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and handle financial reporting and final account reconciliation.

Conduct site inspections and track project progress, implementing corrective measures as needed.

Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, industry standards, health and safety regulations, and CDM requirements.
Requirements

Extensive experience in lift engineering, building services, or infrastructure asset management.

Demonstrated success in delivering engineering projects from feasibility to completion.

Experience in managing contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders.

Strong background in contract administration and procurement processes.

Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Lift Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.

Membership in a recognized professional engineering institution.

In-depth understanding of lift systems, engineering standards, and maintenance practices.
Additional Information

Working hours are 35 hours per week.

Payments are made on a bi-weekly schedule.
