We are seeking an experienced Head Dental Nurse to lead and support our dental team in delivering exceptional patient care. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the dental nursing team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth clinical operations
- Assist with patient care, ensuring comfort and reassurance throughout their visit
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise instruments in accordance with infection control protocols
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient records efficiently using IT systems
- Support dentists during procedures, including handling instruments and maintaining a sterile environment
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and practice policies
- Provide training and mentorship to junior staff members to foster professional development
- Maintain organised stock levels of dental supplies and equipment
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and external stakeholders to promote a positive practice environment
Skills
- Proven experience as a Dental Nurse, with leadership capabilities suitable for a Head Nurse role
- Strong patient care skills with the ability to provide reassurance and support to patients of all ages
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, for clear interaction with patients and team members
- Good IT literacy, including familiarity with dental practice management software and electronic health records
- Knowledge of nursing practices within a dental setting, including infection control procedures
- Strong organisational skills to oversee daily operations and manage staff schedules effectively
