Job Summary
Due to continued expansion, we are seeking highly skilled and proactive field & workshop based engineers. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of plant operations. Experience working on JCB equipment within the waste & recycling industry & construction industry would be an advantage, but not essential, coupled with a positive attitude and a flexible approach to work to provide our customers with unrivalled satisfaction, supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Most of our sites are Midlands based, however, national travel may be required job depending.
The primary responsibilities of this role include diagnosing, servicing, and repairing equipment to a high standard. A competitive hourly rate of £17 to £20 depending on experience is available for the right candidate, with overtime & weekend work available
Duties
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of machinery, facilities, and systems to identify potential issues before they impact operations.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex technical problems, providing effective solutions promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure all plant operations comply with environmental standards and safety legislation.
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers as required for specialised repairs or procurement of parts.
Qualifications
- Qualified as an engineer in plant or a similar industry.
- Proven experience in plant engineering within a waste management and recycling environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation technology.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex technical issues efficiently.
- Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Effective communication skills.
- Full driving License.
