About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Buyer to join our UK team. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing products, raw materials, packaging, and services to support business objectives. This role will focus on ensuring product availability, optimizing inventory levels, negotiating favourable commercial terms, and building strong supplier partnerships while supporting company growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for assigned product categories.
· Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, service, and delivery performance.
· Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and supply agreements to achieve cost savings and value improvements.
· Monitor inventory levels and demand forecasts to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess inventory.
· Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and accurate order fulfilment.
· Work closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and Finance teams to support business requirements.
· Analyse purchasing data, supplier performance, and market trends to identify opportunities and risks.
· Support new product launches by coordinating supplier sourcing, pricing, and procurement activities.
· Resolve supply issues, shortages, and delivery delays to minimize business disruption.
· Maintain accurate supplier records, contracts, and procurement documentation.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
· Continuously seek opportunities to improve procurement processes and supplier performance.
Required Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
· Minimum 3 years' experience in a purchasing, procurement, or buying role.
· Experience within FMCG, health and wellness, supplements, pharmaceuticals, retail, or consumer goods is highly desirable.
· Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
· Excellent analytical and commercial acumen.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
· High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
· Preferred Qualifications
· CIPS qualification or working towards CIPS accreditation.
· Experience managing international suppliers and import processes.
· Knowledge of inventory planning and demand forecasting principles.
· Experience working within a regulated product environment.
