About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Land & Engineering Surveyor to join our team based in the Milton Keynes / Northampton area. This is a varied role combining both land surveying and engineering surveying responsibilities, supporting a wide range of construction, infrastructure and monitoring projects across Central England, the Midlands and Heathrow.
The role is ideally suited to a surveyor who is confident delivering both topographical and engineering surveys, capable of working independently on site, and comfortable adapting to changing project requirements. You will play a key role in supporting our growing workload across the region while maintaining the high standards of quality and service our clients expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake topographical, measured building and boundary surveys
- Carry out engineering setting out, monitoring and as-built surveys on construction and infrastructure projects
- Operate Leica total stations, GNSS equipment, digital levels and laser scanning technology
- Ensure works are delivered accurately, safely and in accordance with project requirements
- Process and manage survey data using software such as AutoCAD and N4CE
- Interpret survey and engineering data to produce accurate drawings and deliverables
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers and site teams to ensure efficient project delivery
- Maintain survey records, quality assurance procedures and digital workflows
- Ensure health, safety and environmental standards are upheld across all site activities
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Support technical problem solving and provide practical survey solutions on site
- Represent Vision Survey professionally at all times
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven experience in both land surveying and engineering surveying, including setting out works and topographical surveys
- Strong understanding of surveying principles, mapping techniques and geospatial data
- Experience using total stations, GNSS equipment, digital levels and modern survey technologies
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and N4CE software
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively
- Proactive approach to problem solving and delivering high-quality work
- Full UK manual driving licence
- Flexibility to travel throughout the region and support projects at Heathrow when required
