Working Thursday to Sunday 8am - 5pm
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Yard Assistant to join our Equestrian Centre team at Riseholme College.
You may currently be working on a professional yard, at a riding school, competition centre or within another hands-on equine environment. You will have recent industry experience, a good understanding of horse care and welfare, and the confidence to support riders and students of different ages and abilities.
You will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the Equestrian Centre, helping to maintain the yard, facilities and horses to high professional standards. You will guide, motivate and supervise students during practical activities, provide high-quality instruction and support the training and ridden development of our College horses.
The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to our varied calendar of equine competitions and events, including the Riseholme Horse Trials, Open Days and other local, regional and national events. Some evening and weekend work will therefore be required.
You will hold BHS Stage 1 and ideally BHS Stage 2 Foundation Coach in Complete Horsemanship, or an equivalent qualification. If you have not yet achieved Stage 2, we will support you to work towards it. You will be proactive, professional and confident working as part of a busy team, with strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
At Riseholme College, you will join a welcoming and knowledgeable equine team within a professional Equestrian Centre. With specialist facilities, hands-on student learning and a busy programme of competitions and events, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career while making a positive difference to our students and horses.
