The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Training & Quality Manager to join our growing team in Team Valley, Gateshead. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for designing, delivering, and managing all training and quality assurance activity across the business.
You will work closely with operational, customer service, and compliance teams to ensure our people have the skills, knowledge, and behaviours to deliver an outstanding service — and you will champion a culture of continuous improvement at every level
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deliver engaging training programmes covering induction, refresher, compliance, and specialist topics.
Manage and embed quality assurance processes across all customer-facing and operational functions. Conduct call and process audits, providing structured feedback and improvement plans.
Lead root cause analysis on complaints and service failures, ensuring corrective actions are embedded. Provide one-to-one coaching and development support to team leaders and frontline staff.
Maintain a training needs analysis (TNA) and skills matrix for all departments. Ensure all training content aligns with current waste legislation, Health & Safety requirements, and company policy.
Manage external training providers, accredited qualifications, and e-learning platforms.
Produce regular reports on training completion, quality scores, and performance trends for senior leadership
Required Experience
Proven experience in a Training Manager, L&D Manager, or Quality Manager role — ideally within waste, utilities, logistics, or a similarly regulated industry.
Strong track record of designing and delivering training that drives measurable behavioural change.
Experience
Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and develop people at all levels of the business.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and translate it into action.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with LMS platforms and e-learning authoring tools
