Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive patient care tailored to each individual’s needs, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with care plans and healthcare regulations.
- Support clients with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met while respecting dietary restrictions.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
- Manage behavior and provide emotional support for clients with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other cognitive impairments.
- Drive clients to appointments, social activities, or errands while maintaining safe driving practices.
- Monitor health status, report changes promptly, and document care provided thoroughly.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living or home care environments with a strong understanding of patient care principles.
- Knowledge of nursing home procedures, hospice care, dementia care, and Alzheimer’s support strategies.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting clients with mobility or transfers.
- Excellent caregiving skills with a focus on compassion, patience, and effective communication.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and first aid procedures.
- Strong driving record and ability to operate a vehicle responsibly for client transportation needs.
- Experience in behavior management techniques for clients with cognitive or emotional challenges.
