Duties
- Assist the management team in overseeing daily nursery operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and policies
- Support the planning and implementation of engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood development
- Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance to uphold high standards of childcare and education
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by maintaining vigilant supervision and adhering to health and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and external agencies to support children's individual needs
- Contribute to staff training sessions, meetings, and ongoing professional development initiatives
- Take responsibility for managing the nursery in the absence of senior management, making decisions that prioritize quality care
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting, demonstrating a strong understanding of early childhood education principles
- Excellent management and leadership skills to motivate and guide a team effectively
- Strong communication skills in English, capable of building positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge of childcare regulations, health & safety procedures, and safeguarding policies
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with nursery administration tasks such as record keeping and activity planning
- Valid driving license is preferred for transporting children or attending off-site activities when necessary
