Job Description – Mechanical / Vehicle Technician
We are looking for a skilled, motivated, and adaptable Mechanical / Vehicle Technician to join our busy and growing garage. This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on repair work, services, diagnostics, and occasional customer interaction.
Responsibilities
Carry out MOT repairs and general maintenance, including: Brakes, clutches, suspension work, batteries, A/C re-gas, tyres, car checks and servicing
Experience with engine work preffered
Ability to perform mechanical diagnostics and fault-finding on modern vehicles
Confidently interact with customers — taking calls, booking jobs, and handling cash or card payments when needed
Maintain a tidy, organised, and safe working environment
Take initiative and keep the workflow moving — always asking “What’s next?”
Qualifications & Experience
IMI Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair qualification (essential)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a garage environment
Proven background in mechanical diagnostics at a minimum

Hours & Pay
Full-time – 40 to 45 hours per week
Monday to Friday: 9am – 5:00pm
Saturday: 9am – 2:00pm (one off one on)
Salary: £17 to £19 per hour, depending on qualifications or experience
