Piano Teacher – School-Based Tuition
Are you a fun, charismatic and engaging piano teacher who loves helping children feel confident, successful and excited about music?
Anthem Tuition is looking for a passionate Piano Teacher to join our growing team, delivering lessons during the school day at a high school.
We’re looking for someone who can make lessons fun and inspiring while helping students develop strong musical foundations. Our students enjoy a mixture of pop, rock and classical music, and we encourage our teachers to incorporate each student's musical tastes into their lessons wherever possible.
The Role
- 4-5 hours of tuition per week, with the opportunity for these hours to grow
- Teaching currently takes place on Mondays during the school day
- Some flexibility to move the teaching to another weekday if required
- You must be available consistently during school term time
- Lessons run for approximately 37-39 weeks per academic year
- Primarily 1:1 piano tuition
- Students range from complete beginners through to approximately Grade 5 standard
As the timetable grows, there may also be opportunities to take on additional teaching hours.
What You'll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for:
- Delivering engaging and well-structured piano lessons
- Preparing appropriate music and learning materials for students
- Setting clear and achievable practice goals
- Writing brief weekly lesson notes
- Helping students progress through a mixture of technical skills, repertoire and songs they genuinely enjoy playing
- Encouraging students to take part in Anthem performance opportunities
- Supporting students working towards grades where appropriate
- Collecting students from their classroom if they forget to attend their scheduled lesson

Experience & Qualifications
The following are desirable:
- Grade 8 standard piano or equivalent
- Degree-level qualification in Music, Music Performance, Music Technology or a related subject
- Previous instrumental teaching experience
- Experience supporting students through graded examinations
- Experience teaching GCSE/BTEC Music students
