This role is part of the Record to Report team for the Sage European finance shared service centre. The role will primarily cover all aspects of fixed assets accounting whilst also providing support to regional Lead accountants on journal preparation and Balance sheet accounts . The role will involve developing excellent working relationships with other performance reporting teams and business partners. This role is an ideal platform for someone used to working in a shared service centre environment who would like to gain further experience in accounting in a supportive environment and develop their long-term career at Sage.
This is a hybrid role based 3 days per week from our Newcastle office.

Summary of role
This role is part of the Record to Report (R2R) team within Sage’s European Finance Shared Service Centre, with a primary focus on fixed asset accounting and financial reporting. You'll help ensure accurate accounting, strong financial controls and timely month-end reporting, while working closely with finance colleagues across the business. What I will be doing
You’ll manage fixed asset accounting, ensuring assets are capitalised correctly and in line with Group accounting policies. You'll prepare balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules, journal entries and month-end reporting, helping maintain accurate financial records and strong financial controls.
You'll work closely with Performance Reporting teams and business partners to resolve queries, support annual statutory accounts and contribute to both internal and external audits. The role also includes participating in ad hoc finance projects and identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes, increase efficiency and strengthen collaboration across the wider finance function.
What we are looking for
We're looking for someone with experience working in a finance or shared services environment who has a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. You should be highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working to deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills are essential, along with excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution-focused approach. Experience using ERP systems, particularly Sage X3, and working to service level agreements would be beneficial. An AAT qualification or a desire to study towards a professional accounting qualification would also be an advantage.
