Step Into Teaching is partnering with a supportive secondary school in Witham to recruit a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant for the September 2026 academic year. This full-time, term-time role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers while using your mathematical expertise to deliver targeted interventions that help students develop confidence in numeracy, reasoning and problem-solving.
The Role
As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you'll support teaching and learning across the school while helping students achieve their full potential in Mathematics.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students during lessons across a range of curriculum subjects.
- Delivering targeted Maths interventions on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Helping students strengthen their numeracy, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Supporting pupils preparing for GCSE Mathematics examinations.
- Assisting teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management and learning activities.
- Supporting students of all abilities, including those with SEND.
- Encouraging positive behaviour, resilience and a love of learning.

Contract: Full-time | Monday-Friday | Term Time Only
Salary: £500-£530 per week

Candidate Requirements
- A 2:2 degree or above in Mathematics or a related subject - a strong A level in Maths would also be considered.
- GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths.

- Reliable, enthusiastic and committed to making a positive impact.
