Base Scotland is a Glasgow-based hospitality group operating 15 venues across two distinct divisions: the Superlative Collection, our premium dining portfolio, and Merchant Bar & Pub Co, our pubs, bars and events business. Between them our sites span everything from fine dining to relaxed pizza and pub trade — giving our teams real variety and genuine progression across the group.
The Role
As Chef de Partie you'll run your own section with confidence and consistency, whether that's the pass in a fine dining kitchen or the pizza oven in one of our pub kitchens. You'll play a key role in delivering great food, every dish, every time.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of your section, from prep through to service
- Prepare and cook dishes to spec, maintaining consistency and presentation standards
- Manage mise en place, stock rotation and minimising waste on your section
- Follow all food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures at all times
- Support and guide commis chefs and kitchen porters working on your section
- Communicate clearly with the pass and wider kitchen team during service
- Contribute ideas to specials and menu development where relevant
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a CDP or a strong, experienced Demi CDP ready to step up
- Solid section experience in a busy, quality-focused kitchen
- Good knowledge of food safety and allergen procedures
- Food safety certification (Level 2 minimum)
- A team player with a genuine passion for food and high standards
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends and across sections as needed
