Maintenance Operative / General Maintenance Technician

Are you an experienced Maintenance Operative, General Maintenance Technician or skilled property maintenance professional looking for a rewarding role where your work makes a real difference?
At Cygnet Elowen Hospital, we are looking for a reliable and practical Maintenance Operative to provide a high-quality maintenance, repair and facilities support service across the hospital. You’ll help ensure our environment remains safe, welcoming and well maintained for the people in our care, our colleagues and visitors.
You’ll be working 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) at Cygnet Elowen Hospital, supporting a service for individuals with eating disorders, personality disorders and disordered eating.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Carrying out a wide range of building maintenance tasks, including basic joinery, plumbing, painting, decorating and general DIY repairs
Completing regular fire safety checks, including fire alarm points, fire exits, door retaining devices and emergency lighting
We’re looking for someone who is:
Experienced in a maintenance operative, maintenance technician, handyperson, caretaker, facilities assistant or similar property maintenance role
Skilled in general DIY, repairs, plumbing, painting, decorating, basic joinery or construction maintenance
Ideally experienced within a healthcare, care home, hospital, education, residential or commercial maintenance environment

This is a practical, hands-on role where every repair, safety check and improvement helps make a meaningful difference.
