Location: Gifted Hands Nursery & Preschool
Hours: Monday to Friday, 30 hours per week
(One full day 8:00am–6:00pm and four afternoons 1:00pm–6:00pm)
We are looking for a reliable and organised Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Helper to join our nursery team.
This role involves handling and serving meals and snacks to children, ensuring all dietary requirements and allergies are followed, and helping to keep the kitchen clean, safe and well organised.
Main Duties:
- Serve meals and snacks to children.
- Follow children's dietary requirements, allergies and individual food plans at all times.
- Complete all kitchen paperwork and records accurately in line with nursery procedures.
- Follow the nursery's food safety, hygiene and health & safety policies.
- Wash up, clean kitchen equipment and maintain a clean and organised kitchen throughout the day.
- Receive and store food deliveries correctly.
- Report any concerns or stock shortages to the Nursery Manager.
Essential Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS check (or to be obtained).
- Suitable to work with children in line with safer recruitment requirements.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to complete one).
