A hybrid home based role with some headlines as follows -
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Ensure consistent delivery of feedstock at requisite quality to managed plants in designated region, whilst ensuring digestate is used by growers local to AD plants.
POSITION IN ORGANISATION:
· Reports to Senior Feedstock Manager.
· Occasional reporting responsibilities to Head of Agriculture, Board of Directors and external stakeholders, as required.
· Accountability for day to day running of important processes and procedures.
· Responsible for providing training and technical advice to others.
· Frequent contact internally with all departments.
· Frequent contact externally with farmers, suppliers, contractors, agronomists and other external stakeholders.
SCOPE OF JOB:
1. Responsibility to ensure an incident and injury free work environment
2. Responsible for developing and meeting budgets on feedstock and digestate
3. Negotiate appropriate, long-term contracts for feedstock and digestate storage, supply and offtake to meet MOSA requirements and exploit opportunities to trigger Performance Fees
4. Support the site manager to optimize feedstock and digestate planning.
5. Advise site manager on contractor service delivery and acceptable quality parameters for delivered feedstock.
6. External advocate for benefits of AD to farming, energy and environmental industries
7. Contribute to the overall success of the business and team
DIMENSIONS & LIMITS OF AUTHORITY:
· Largely proactive with little or no direct supervision
· Reporting relationship based on reviews of progress against targets and guidance on methodology
· Considerable discretion and independence under general guidance but refers to higher levels for policy and professional decisions
· Work requires considerable initiative and judgement – difficult tasks or assignments may be handled
· High degree of pressure with consistently high level of quality service required with major peaks of pressure
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS LEVEL:
· Maths and English GCSE grade A to C (Level 9 – 4) or equivalent
· Relevant agricultural experience is essential with experience of AD desirable.
· Formal qualification in an agricultural discipline or qualified by experience in a relevant industry
· People management skills encouraging engagement, ownership and teamwork
· Proven track record of negotiation and influencing skills
- A track record of effective management of SHEQ
· IT literate with a good understanding of Excel
Role will be home based with frequent travel across region, some national travel and very occasional international travel may be required
