Cleaning Manager

14:00-20:00, Monday to Friday.
Job Summary
The Cleaning Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily cleaning operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and customer satisfaction across all assigned sites. The role involves managing cleaning staff, maintaining health and safety compliance, scheduling work, monitoring performance, and ensuring that all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise cleaning teams across one or multiple sites.
- Plan, organise, and allocate daily cleaning schedules and staff rotas.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and support cleaning staff.
- Conduct regular quality inspections and ensure cleaning standards are consistently met.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies, risk assessments, and safe working procedures.
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning materials, equipment, and PPE, and arrange replenishment as required.
- Manage staff attendance, performance, and disciplinary matters in line with company policies.
- Liaise with clients and site managers to resolve issues and maintain positive working relationships.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is used correctly and maintained in good working order.
- Prepare reports on staffing, inspections, incidents, and operational performance.
- Manage budgets and control cleaning supply costs where applicable.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, complaints, and service requests.
Skills and Experience Essential
- Previous experience in a cleaning supervisory or management role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and cleaning best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
Desirable
- Cleaning industry qualifications (such as BICSc certification).
- Experience managing multiple sites.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations.

Working Hours
