This is a 12 month fixed term contract (possible secondment for internal staff) for an Interim Operational Manager for:
Mental Health Liaison (MHLT) service based at Watford General
Mental Health Liaison (MHLT) service based at Lister Hospital, Stevenage
Mental Health Urgent Care Centre (MHUCC) based at Lister Hospital, Stevenage
MHLTs are multi disciplinary teams that support people in the acute hospital who experience mental health issues. They provide support to service users across the wards at the hospitals and to service users who present to A & E.
MHUCC is dedicated to improving experiences and outcomes for service users, carers, and staff. This service will also play a crucial role in supporting acute hospital colleagues, enabling the hospital to improve ED performance and overall quality of care.
This role is best suited to an experienced Operations Manager who is confident, proactive, and able to work autonomously. While prior experience in crisis settings is ideal, we are looking for someone who can navigate complex and changeable situations with confidence while providing timely, compassionate, and person-centred care.

Work closely with the service manager and Clinical Leads, to support the team through a period of transformation and change to working practices.
Build and maintain relations with senior staff from West Herts Hospital Trust and Lister Hospital.
Provide supportive leadership to the team leaders within the team
Ensure team meets national and local KPIs
Work with wider team to improve clinical practice

To provide overall leadership for the designated team/s to ensure their services are integrated with and responsive to the General Hospital and West Herts Integrated Diabetic Team, as well as other local service needs
To ensure (in conjunction with appropriate lead professionals) that practice within the teams meet relevant standards is appropriate, timely, safe and follows agreed professional practice
To be responsible for the overall management of the designated MHLT teams in and in conjunction with the team leaders of all facilities, services and processes provided therein including accommodation and site management.
To develop and monitor systems, policies, standards and procedures that ensure compliance with best practice requirements of the Trust and county council in line with both agencies-strategic policies and plans of the joint commissioning partnership Board
In partnership to identify trends, strengths and weaknesses that may influence the development of designated MHLT services and to develop a culture of continuous improvement throughout the designated team/s
