We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Property Manager, the successful candidate will have a strong background in property and building maintenance, including plumbing repairs, electrical work, carpentry, and other general maintenance duties. This role is a multi-site role and requires someone who can work independently and as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of our properties facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out ongoing maintenance of our properties and equipment, including plumbing (desirable), carpentry, decorating, minor electrical work and general repairs
- Conduct inspections of building systems to identify and address issues before they become major problems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and tenants, prioritising urgent repairs as needed.
- Assist with minor carpentry work, painting, and other general maintenance tasks.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work completed and inventory of supplies.
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors as needed for larger repair projects.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Prepare reports based on completed repairs works and property routine inspections.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in similar role, e.g. maintenance, building services, plumbing (desirable), electrical
- Excellent practical technical knowledge and ability to undertake hands-on building maintenance
- Knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, and other building systems. (desirable)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills and stay updated on industry best practices.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Must have own tools and reliable transport, as this is a multi-site role.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications like fire safety or maintenance is a plus.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of key compliance issues including Health and Safety legislation
- Experience of contractor supervision
- Experience of working with Planned Preventive Maintenance programme
- Numerate and computer skills are essential
