We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Children and Young People's Wellbeing and Inclusion Worker to join our friendly and supportive team. This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people through early intervention, mental health support, peer group facilitation, community outreach and inclusion-focused practice.
Working across the centre place and its services Talkzone Mental Health Service and LGBT+ Service Nottinghamshire, you will support children and young people aged 11-25 to improve their wellbeing, build resilience, develop confidence and overcome barriers that may be affecting their lives.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To support children and young people aged 11-25 to improve their mental health, emotional wellbeing, resilience and social connections through a range of early intervention and preventative services.
The postholder will deliver one-to-one support, facilitate peer support groups and drop-in sessions, undertake outreach work, and work collaboratively with families, schools, colleges and partner agencies to ensure young people can access the right support at the right time.
A particular focus of the organisation is to support LGBT+ children and young people, reducing social isolation, promoting inclusion and helping young people thrive within their communities.
CORE TASKS AND DUTIES
Direct support
· Deliver one-to-one wellbeing support to children and young people aged 11-25.
· Undertake assessments, identify needs, agree support plans and review progress.
· Support young people to develop coping strategies, resilience, confidence and self-esteem.
· Provide practical support relating to education, employment, training, housing, relationships and wider wellbeing issues.
· Support young people to access specialist services where appropriate.
· Maintain professional boundaries and deliver support within agreed service frameworks.
Group Work and Community Engagement
· Plan and facilitate peer support groups for children and young people.
· Deliver wellbeing workshops and activities promoting emotional health and resilience.
· Support the delivery and development of youth-led projects and consultations.
· Facilitate drop-in sessions that provide open access support, information, advice and signposting.
· Encourage participation, volunteering and leadership opportunities for young people.
Partnership Working
· Develop positive working relationships with schools, colleges, health services, local authorities and voluntary sector organisations.
· Attend multi-agency meetings when required.
· Support effective referral pathways and coordinated support planning.
· Promote Centre Place services within the community.
· Represent the organisation at partnership events, forums and community activities.
Safeguarding and Risk Management
· Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
· Undertake risk assessments and safety planning where required.
· Adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures.
· Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with GDPR and organisational requirements.
Monitoring and Evaluation
· Record outcomes and impact data using organisational systems.
· Produce case studies, activity reports and monitoring information.
· Support the evaluation and continuous improvement of services.
· Engage in supervision, training and professional development activities.
General Responsibilities

Person Specification
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Mental Health, Community Work or a related field (Level 4 or above), or equivalent experience.
Desirable:
- Youth Work qualification. Counselling qualification. Mental Health First Aid training. Safeguarding qualification.
- Member of a recognised professional body (e.g. SWE, HCPC, BPS, BACP/NCS/UKCP, BABCP)
Experience:
Essential:
- Experience of supporting children and young people.
- Experience of delivering one-to-one support interventions.
- Experience facilitating groups, workshops or activities.
- Experience working with vulnerable or disadvantaged individuals.
- Experience of partnership and multi-agency working.
- Understanding of safeguarding children and young people.
Desirable:
- Working with people from the LGBT+ community.
- Experience of co-production and youth participation.
- Experience delivering wellbeing or resilience programmes.
- Experience supporting young people at risk of social exclusion.
