Overview
The role is primarily to support the Group Finance Manager and the Group CFO with daily transactional tasks, including processing invoices (accounts payable/receivable), managing expenses, bank reconciliations, and assisting with payroll and year-end reporting. The role acts as a key administrative contact for the finance function and helps maintain the books of account for each group company using applicable accounting software, currently Xero, to ensure accurate financial records and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Accounts Payable: Processing invoices, managing supplier payments.
- Accounts Receivable: Raising sales invoices onto various customer portals and Xero, chasing outstanding debts and dealing with any customer queries.
- Bank & Cash Management: Reconciling bank statements, managing petty cash, processing bank receipts, creating payments for suppliers, employees, and any other third-party creditors.
- Expenses: Reviewing and processing staff expense claims and credit card receipts.
- Reporting: Weekly KPI’s, updating financial spreadsheets, supporting month-end/year-end processes, and assisting with budget preparation.
- Payroll Support: Assisting with payroll data entry and processing, ensuring timely salary payments, and assisting with payroll filings and submissions to external third parties.
- Admin: Digital filing and general financial administration.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- AAT qualification or studies towards an accounting qualification.
- Experience of working in a finance environment. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
Pay: £28,500.00-£32,000.00 per year
