Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Tractor Driver / General Operative to join our construction site team. This role will primarily involve operating a tractor and bowser for dust suppression across site, ensuring roadways and working areas are kept safe and compliant.
In addition to operating plant, the successful candidate will be expected to assist with general site duties when required. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is proactive, flexible, and willing to support wider site operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a tractor and water bowser to carry out dust suppression across the site road network and working areas.
Fill, transport, and manage water supplies safely and efficiently.
Conduct daily pre-use checks and basic maintenance of plant and equipment.
Assist with general site duties when required, including labouring and supporting site operations.
Support the safe movement of vehicles and plant on site where necessary.
Maintain a clean and organised working environment and uphold site safety standards.
Carry out manual handling tasks and follow instructions from site management.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety, ensuring all works are carried out in line with site procedures and regulations.
Requirements:
Valid CSCS card (or recognised equivalent).
Valid plant ticket for tractor operation (CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent).
Previous experience operating tractors, ideally with bowser or dust suppression work.
Willingness to assist with general operative duties as required.
Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions effectively.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Previous experience working on construction sites is desirable.
Able to work under CIS or as self-employed (Ltd Company).
Available for immediate start.
Contract length: 2 months
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday: 07:00 - 18:00
Pay: £170.00-£180.00 per day
