We are seeking a dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our team for a part time position. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping and mentoring others, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. We are looking for people to join our settled team, caring for adults within a small residential home, which accommodates and supports people who have some form of mental health needs. Contributing to our ethos of encouraging independence, involvement, promoting community engagement and empowering people using person centred and trauma informed care approach.
A prospective employee who is able:
To work some weekends;
To provide leadership to the care staff within Sunny Court;
To provide care in accordance with current best practices, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager;
To supervise the care services within Sunny Court in accordance with agreed standards;
To maintain skills at a current level, and undertake such training and development as may from time-to-time be required to maintain practices as up-to-date
Responsibilities and Duties of the Job:
Ensure Residents are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing
To ensure that all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service and supervise staff
Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support
Develop effective working relationships with other employees within Sunny Court
Work in cooperation with members of the multi-disciplinary teams to increase opportunities for Residents
Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by the management
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role required
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle challenging situations with empathy
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of senior care principles and practices
- Certification in NVQ Level 3 or willingness to engage in continuous development
