Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service.
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Oversee food safety practices, ensuring compliance with health regulations at all times.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimise kitchen operations.
- Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Develop new menu items in line with current culinary trends and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area, adhering to hygiene standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, and kitchen management within a hospitality or restaurant setting.
- Supervising experience with demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent skills in food preparation, presentation, and flavour development.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations.
- Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality environments is highly desirable.
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
