The Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Qualified Supervisor (QS) to join our electrical team in Gloucester, reporting to the Electrical Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social housing and be responsible for overseeing job completions, ensuring compliance standards are met, and signing off certification including EICR’s, EIC, Minor Works and Emergency Lighting Certificates. This role will also involve visiting properties for in person and post completion inspections, along with shadowing operatives to ensure they are working to high standards. While this role is primarily office-based, regular site visits will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee completed jobs and ensure compliance standards are met
- Conduct visual checks of photographs provided by electricians and verify the accuracy of certification for all work types
- Visit properties to conduct in person and post completion audits and shadow operatives to ensure standards are maintained.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with current British standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the electrical team.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and standards
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure contract requirements are met
- Support Contracts Managers in achieving contract compliance
- Lead the annual NICEIC assessment process
- Engage with third party auditors such as NICEIC, CORGI and TCW to review and respond to certification queries
- Carry out new works surveys to support the quotation of new works
- Attend client meetings to support contract and compliance targets
- Delivery of training to support the departments CPD
- Support the delivery of training and toolbox talks to maintain high standards of work and compliance
- Maintain engineer supervision register in line with NICEIC requirements
Experience & Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- AM2
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
- 2391 Test and Inspection or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in social housing.
- Strong understanding of EICR processes and requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills
- Previous experience as an Electrical QS (Desirable)
