Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of food safety. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting daily operations and ensuring our customers enjoy a welcoming experience. Previous barista experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks, adhering to company standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, and baked goods.
- Serve customers at the counter or via table service, ensuring prompt and courteous interactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including clearing tables and sanitising surfaces regularly.
- Manage cash register operations accurately, including handling payments and giving correct change.
- Follow food safety regulations diligently to ensure hygiene standards are upheld at all times.
- Support stock replenishment by monitoring inventory levels and restocking supplies as needed.
- Assist in opening or closing procedures to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a café or food service environment is desirable, especially barista experience.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is essential.
- Ability to serve customers efficiently with a friendly demeanour.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Good time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods.
- Strong organisational skills to maintain cleanliness and order within the café environment.
- A positive attitude with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
