Modern Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Berkhamsted (HP4 1EF) for an experienced and reliable Class 2 HGV Driver to join their team.
This is a hands-on delivery role involving 10–18 drops per day, with a strong focus on customer service, safe driving and manual handling.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Driving a Class 2 HGV vehicle safely and responsibly
- Completing approximately 10–18 deliveries per day
- Delivering to customers across the local and surrounding areas
- Loading and unloading goods
- Manually handling and moving delivery cages
- Lifting cages onto a trolley and safely manoeuvring them to delivery points
- Completing delivery paperwork and following company procedures
- Carrying out vehicle checks and reporting any issues
- Providing excellent customer service at each delivery
- Following all relevant health & safety procedures
Working Hours
- Start time: 5:30am
- Finish time will vary depending on the delivery schedule
- Typical finish time can be anywhere between 3:00pm and 6:00pm
- 10–18 drops per day
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a valid Class 2 (C) licence
- Have a valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Have previous Class 2 driving experience
- Be comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting
- Be physically fit and able to lift delivery cages onto a trolley
- Have a good knowledge of road safety and drivers' hours
- Be reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Have a professional and customer-focused attitude
- Be comfortable working to delivery schedules and completing multiple drops
