About the Role:
Tan Y Lan Community Centre is looking for an organised and personable
Administrator to help keep our centre running smoothly. This part-time role is ideal
for someone who enjoys variety, works well independently, and wants to make a real
difference to their local community.
What You'll Be Doing:
- General administration — managing correspondence (phone, email, post), filing, and maintaining accurate records and databases.
- Bookings and scheduling — handling room and facility bookings, maintaining the centre's calendar, booking system and liaising with hirers and group leaders.
- Financial administration — processing invoices and supporting basic book keeping tasks (e.g., recording income from bookings).
- Health and safety compliance — maintaining registers (e.g., visitor sign-in, incident logs) and ensuring administrative records meet safeguarding and compliance requirements.
- Support for events and activities — helping coordinate logistics for centre events, classes, and community programmes. Liaise closely with the Centre Manager and Community Centre Coordinator.
- Minibus coordination — scheduling minibus bookings and driver availability, maintaining service/insurance/MOT records, and liaising with drivers and service users.
What We're Looking For
- Proven administrative experience (office, charity, or community setting preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of accounting software (Xero) or equivalent
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or equivalent.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
- Friendly, approachable manner suited to working with the public and diverse community groups.
Pay: £13.00 per hour
