Newell Tuition is recruiting a full time tutor to work in our growing tuition business. (Part time positions may also be available)
You will tutor primary school children focusing on entrance exam preparation. This position will be based at one of our four offices in Sale, Timperley and Altrincham.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Provide one to one tuition from 4pm until 8pm Monday-Friday and 9am until 6pm on Saturdays (28 hours per week; flexible during school holidays)
- Adequately prepare pupils for their entrance exams which will include teaching Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. (Training and ongoing support will be given)
- Tailor lesson content according to the individual pupil's needs.
- Attend biweekly meetings and training when required.
- Keep detailed records of pupil's lessons and progress.
- Provide parents with feedback on the progress of their children.
Additional work is available if desired in the form of summer schools, mock exams and writing new material for the company.
On target earnings for this position will reach £25,000 (when working 28 hours per week) with additional work potentially taking your earnings up to £30,000.
Newell Tuition is a well established tuition company within Trafford. Servicing the local community with a focus on entrance exam preparation, we are well known and highly respected in the local area.
Currently in a period of expansion, we are looking for candidates to join our team now and grow with our business. Other aspects of the business include mock exams and summer schools providing great advancement opportunities for well motivated and hard working individuals.
Candidates should:
- Have Maths, English and Science GCSE qualifications of level A-C.
- Be able to communicate with clear and fluent speech.
- Dress smartly when teaching and maintain a tidy working environment.
- Be punctual.
- Be able to teach the course material.
Preferred (but not essential):
- Some teaching experience.
- Experience working with children.
*Please note that this role will require that you become registered as self-employed. Support will be provided as needed.*
Newell Tuition will act as an agency providing you with:
- Your pupils for the year.
- An office for you to hold your lessons.
- The course materials and training required to teach those lessons.
- Full and continuing support setting up as self-employed, submitting tax returns etc.
