The commercial and procurement function ensures that our supply chain is effective, aligned to our institutional goals, and continually improving.
UCL’s operates a large multi-disciplinary estate that is critical to the organisation’s performance. The Director of Supply Chain operates alongside the Estates function to shape, manage and assure the supply chain that enables our construction and refurbishment programmes, and our facilities management contracts.
The candidate is expected to develop and deliver of strategies that enable our net zero targets, drive cost efficiency and organisational performance. It is a process of continuous improvement, and the role is supported by a team of category managers.
The ideal candidate for the role will be a Commercially strategic and focused individual who is experienced in leading teams to enhance and produce the best results from internal leaders, external advisors and UCL’s providers.
You will have substantial experience as a Commercial leader within a variety of environments and sectors, particularly Estates, and will have a transformative and change focused core to your leadership approach.
Holding excellent communication skills and subject matter expertise you will have the ability to filter down complex concepts and subjects to those without specialist knowledge in a way which is both digestible and impactful.
An understanding and strong comprehension of Equality Diversity and Inclusion is also key to this role, particularly in relation to accessibility in Estates strategy and when building teams.
