Senior Officer - Parking Projects

Rate: Up to £40.00 per hour Umbrella

About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Officer - Parking Projects to join their Highways team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering parking and traffic management schemes that improve local communities and maximise the effectiveness of on-street parking assets.
You'll lead the development and delivery of a range of parking projects, working closely with internal stakeholders, elected members, contractors and the public to deliver high-quality, compliant and cost-effective solutions.
This position offers flexible and hybrid working, with attendance at the Oxfordshire office as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of parking restriction projects, including Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs), Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs), Zero Emission Zones (ZEZs) and other parking initiatives.
- Investigate and respond to enquiries and complaints relating to parking restrictions and traffic management.
- Liaise with councillors, parish councils, community groups and other stakeholders to develop practical parking solutions.
- Design and review traffic management and parking schemes.
- Prepare specifications, bills of quantities and contract documentation.
- Manage projects from initial survey through to on-site delivery and final account.
- Produce parking sign designs and associated technical documentation.
- Provide technical advice on parking, traffic management and highway matters.
- Manage project budgets, procurement activities, contract administration and risk management.
- Supervise and support members of the wider team.
- Represent the organisation at meetings, committees and stakeholder events where required.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- ONC/HNC in Engineering, Design or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong knowledge of Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions (TSRGD) and Traffic Signs Manuals.
- Good understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
- Experience with Traffic Regulation Order procedures.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and traffic design software such as KeySIGN, KeyPOST, KeyLINES and AutoTrack.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Demonstrable experience designing and delivering traffic or parking schemes.
- Experience in traffic sign design.
- Excellent communication, report writing and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience using data and performance measures to support decision-making.
- A full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle.
Desirable
- Experience using ParkMap or similar parking management software.
- CSCS qualification.
- LANTRA Traffic Management qualification.
