We have an exciting new opportunity to join our supportive and dedicated team as a Casual Host.
As a Host, you will play an important role in supporting the nutrition, hydration and wellbeing of our residents/clients. Working closely with care colleagues, you will help create a positive mealtime experience by serving meals, encouraging independence and social interaction, and maintaining a clean and safe dining environment. This rewarding role requires a caring and respectful approach, good communication skills, and a commitment to promoting dignity, safeguarding and high-quality care at all times.
You will provide cover at our services in Bournemouth and Christchurch, including Coastal Lodge, which provides short term rehabilitation and reablement care and support to our clients; April Court, our Residential Care Home for Adults with Learning Disabilities and Avon View, a residential home that provides nursing, palliative, residential, and dementia care.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting residents and clients to enjoy a safe mealtime experience, including the reheating, plating, serving and clearing of meals.
- Operating catering equipment safely and in line with manufacturer guidelines.
- Supporting visitors to access available meals, and to have the opportunity to eat with their loved ones when applicable.
- Contributing to the safety and compliance of Tricuro services regarding catering processes.
- Ensuring compliance with catering regulations and legislation – such as HACCP and allergy awareness.
- Working within agreed principles and guidelines, with limited supervision.
- Being part of an innovative, empowering, trustworthy, welcoming and inclusive team.
- Providing catering related support to individuals, as identified within in their support plans, risk assessments and SALT guidelines.
- Building and maintaining supportive relationships with new and existing residents/clients in order to understanding their preferences and dietary needs.
What we’re looking for:
- The ability to follow care and support plans and risk assessments.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team.
- Food Safety Qualification – Level 2.
- Flexible approach to working hours, shift patterns and tasks.
- Understanding of the CQC Fundamental Standards and the Care Act 2014.
