Registered Manager / Deputy Manager Ready to Step Up
Children's Residential Home (EBD) | Milton Keynes
Salary: £55,000-£60,000 per annum + Ofsted Performance Bonus
Hours: Full Time | Monday-Friday with on-call responsibilities
Join a home where the children come first.
We're looking for an experienced Registered Manager, or an ambitious Deputy Manager who is ready to take the next step, to lead our operational children's residential home in Milton Keynes.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a young provider that believes outstanding care starts with strong leadership, meaningful relationships and giving children the stability they deserve.
Our home is a three-bedroom property, currently operating as a solo provision. We are intentionally taking our time before welcoming another young person, as we want our new Registered Manager to lead the matching process and help shape the future of the home.
The young person currently living in the home has settled exceptionally well. They are intelligent, thoughtful and full of potential, with a love of cooking, shopping and developing their independence. Since moving into the home, there have been a largely reduced number of missing episodes or behavioural incidents, which is a great reflection of the consistent, nurturing care already in place. We are committed to maintaining that stability by ensuring any future admissions are the right fit.
The Role
As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care while maintaining full compliance with Ofsted and the Children's Homes Regulations, with support from our incredibly experienced Responsible Individual!
You'll lead and inspire your team, promote a therapeutic and nurturing environment, and work closely with professionals to achieve the very best outcomes for the children in your care.
If you're applying as a Deputy Manager, you should already have a strong understanding of the responsibilities of a Registered Manager, including Ofsted inspections, Regulation 44 visits, safeguarding, quality assurance and regulatory compliance, and be ready to take on your first registration.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day running of the home.
- Ensure full compliance with Ofsted, safeguarding and Children's Homes Regulations.
- Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing staff team.
- Maintain high-quality care planning and risk management.
- Prepare for Ofsted inspections and Regulation 44 visits.
- Build positive relationships with children, families and partner agencies.
- Monitor quality standards and drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee staffing, supervision, rotas and performance management.
- Create a warm, stable and therapeutic home where our children can thrive.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience as a Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to progress.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted frameworks, safeguarding and Children's Homes Regulations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- A calm, resilient and child-centred approach.
- A genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people.
What We Offer
- Salary of £55,000-£60,000 per annum.
- Performance bonuses linked to positive Ofsted outcomes.
- A settled home with strong foundations already in place.
- The opportunity to lead future matching decisions and shape the development of the home.
- Supportive leadership with the autonomy to make decisions.
- Ongoing training, professional development and career progression.
- A positive culture that values teamwork, reflective practice and staff wellbeing.
If you're looking for an opportunity where you can genuinely make a lasting difference while leading a stable, well-supported home, we'd love to hear from you.
